The Inspiring Women in STEM (IWSTEM) Conference is a professional development and networking event designed to encourage, support and inspire women involved in all aspects of STEM in their professional lives, including industrial and government scientists and engineers, academic researchers, STEM educators, college students, and entrepreneurs.

At the annual Delaware IWSTEM conference, over 300 attendees from more than 70 organizations take part in featured presentations, workshops, panel discussions and audience exercises on a variety of issues facing women in the STEM industries. Created in response to the success of BioNJ's first Inspiring Women in STEM Conference in 2015, this Inspiring Women in STEM Symposium featured a morning of inspiration, learning and professional development. Held at the Institute for Life Science Entrepreneurship/Kean University, STEM professionals of all levels participated in an interactive discussion on "Becoming Your Own Best Advocate".

A panel of accomplished leaders shared examples, stories and case studies on how to use and strengthen your negotiation skills and cultivate your influencing capabilities to impact your daily life on both a personal and professional level.

You know how to get things done. You set a goal, develop a plan, create your action steps, assign dates, and make it happen, right? Does a great plan guarantee you will achieve your goal?  In my experience, the answer is no.

Dynamic speaker Vicki Cotter led a discussion about (and had some fun with) filters, language, listening, storytelling, your brain,  and what you can start to do right now to achieve the results you want, consistently.
